Your guide to Canberra grocery delivery during lockdown

With the news major supermarket chains are reporting up to a week’s wait on local deliveries, there are a host of local Canberra grocery delivery options available during lockdown.

There are now 12,500 close contacts in quarantine across Canberra with 10,500 linked to ACT clusters and the remaining 2,000 linked to interstate outbreaks.

All these households being immobilised due to quarantine requirements has put pressure on food and grocery delivery services.

If you’re stuck at home don’t fret, many local grocers are offer delivery!

Below is a comprehensive list of local grocery stores offering delivery across Canberra that will be added to over time.


Red Baron pantry

One of Symonston’s favourite cafes has been doing delivery boxes since the start of the pandemic!

Offering an assortment of produce boxes, groceries, BBQ boxes complete with sausages and beer, grazing boards, and a donut gift box, Red Baron pantry seemingly have a box for every occasion!

Their current delivery window is 12-5pm Monday to Friday.

Their drivers send a courtesy text approximately 30 mins prior to arrival.

When choosing your delivery date, it will automatically default to the 5pm option. Your pantry delivery could arrive earlier.

Arc Organics

Delivering to Canberra, Queanbeyan and Googong every Thursday, Arc Organics predominantly offer certified organic produce, with a small selection of biodynamic, locally grown produce.

Produce boxes are available in a large size for $90 and small for $50.

Both sizes available as mixed vegetable and fruit, or vegetable only options.

Additionally, custom box selections can be put together with your own selection of seasonal produce and grocery selections.

Orders for Thursday delivery need to be in by 9am on the Tuesday prior. Orders are packed and delivered 3-9pm Thursdays.

Choku Bai Jo

The renowned Canberra organic grocers are doing home delivery fruit and vegetable boxes in an assortment of sizes with groceries like milk, bread, eggs, etc. are available too.

Delivery and pick-up days are Tuesdays and Fridays.

For Tuesday orders need to be in by midday the Saturday prior, for Fridays the order needs to be in by midday the Wednesday prior.

​Regional NSW deliveries are running Tuesdays only for now.

Pick-up can be specified at either their Curtin or North Lyneham shop fronts.

Wiffens

Wiffens provide online shopping 6 days a week (every day except Tuesday) with home delivery and free, no-contact store pickup at Fyshwick.

A wide range of groceries is available, with daily deals promoted on their website too.

Their delivery window is between 7.30am-1.30pm with most deliveries occurring in the morning between 8-11am.

Orders need to be in by 10am for next day delivery or store pickup.

Barton Grocer

Barton Grocer offers home delivery within the ACT region from Monday to Friday excluding Queanbeyan and the surrounding regions.

They offer both same day delivery and nominated delivery days and ask customers to let them know their preference when ordering.

All orders need to be placed by 1PM for same day delivery.

Local pick up is also available during business hours Monday to Friday. Online orders are not processed over the weekend.

The Cook Grocer

Cook Grocer’s home delivery service is completely free to the 2614 area, which comprises Aranda, Cook, Hawker, Macquarie, Page, Scullin and Weetangera.

It’s as easy as filling out a delivery form on their website. You’ll then receive a call on the day of delivery to make sure someone is at home.

Ziggy’s Fresh

Ziggy’s offer a range of vegetable, fruit and vegetable, and fruit boxes at different sizes and price points from $50-$120, catering to singles, couples and families big and small.

Deliveries take place Wednesday to Friday from 8am-6pm.

Supabarn Crace

Supabarn Crace offer a 7 day a week home delivery service, doing the round between 3-6pm daily. A click & collect service is also available daily from 1-6pm.

They offer home delivery to Crace, Palmerston, Franklin, Mitchell, Harrison, Gungahlin, Kaleen, Giralang, Lawson, Nicholls, Ngunnawal, McKellar, Moncreiff, Forde, Bonner, Amaroo, Casey, Throsby, Taylor and Jacka.

Minimum spend of $30.

The Fyshwick organic grocery store and café are currently offering organic produce boxes at a discounted flat rate of $50 down from $84.87.

With your produce box you have the option to add:

  • A 2L bottle of organic milk for – $5.50
  • A freshly baked loaf of bread for – $6.50
  • Vegan shepherd’s pie – $12
  • Soup of the day – $10
