Woman charged with drug trafficking and other offences


A 33-year-old woman from the suburb of Ngunnawal has been charged with drug trafficking and other offences following a police operation overnight.

The woman was involved in a traffic collision in Fraser on 29 February 2020 where a large amount of cash and methyl-amphetamine were discovered in a bag in her possession.

Investigations into the activities of the woman continued until last night (30 March 2020) when a vehicle stop of the woman in Dickson and an associated search of her Ngunnawal residence discovered further cash and methyl-amphetamine.

This operation has resulted in the seizure of approximately 90 grams of methyl-amphetamine and more than $8,000 in cash.

The woman has been charged with trafficking in a controlled drug, possession of property suspected to be the proceeds of crime, negligent driving, drug driving and breaching a good behaviour order.

She is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates court today where bail will be opposed.
