What’s on around Canberra this weekend 12-14 August

With showers predicted for the Canberra region this weekend, 12-14 August, we recommend staying inside where it is nice and dry.

The Canberra Writers Festival offers locals the opportunity to hear authors, journalists and professional writers share their stories, tips, and tricks in a number of events across the capital.

This year’s National Science Week starts on Saturday and the Canberra Glassworks is hosting hot shop floor demonstrations throughout the weekend. If you’re after something more saucy, Sex on the Beach at Smith’s Alternative explores the sensual side of science on Sunday afternoon.
