What we’re talking about: Find your Zen

All the latest in fashion, beauty and health.

Find your Zen, for free

With the support of a City Grant, free yoga classes have now started in Civic each Tuesday and Thursday and will continue over 12 weeks. City Renewal Authority CEO Malcolm Snow said it’s a way to make better use of available spaces in Civic and to increase activity and enjoyment in the city centre. “Take a lunchtime break to wind down, stretch the body and clear the mind, or start your day on the right foot with an early morning class before the city gets too busy.”

No matter your level of experience, everyone is welcome at the 45-minute sessions from beginners to bonafide yogis. Simply BYO yoga mat and water bottle and head along to Tuesday’s 12.30-1.15pm class at Latin American Plaza or Thursday’s 7-7.45am class at Garema Place.

Fake it, don’t bake it.

We all know prolonged sun exposure is dangerous on the skin (especially during a hot and dry Canberra summer) so using a fake tanner can be a safe way to get your summer glow on. Australian made and organic self-tan product, Eco Tan, has launched an innovative, hydrating and first for fake tanning –Hempitan Body Tan Water. Made using certified organic hemp seed extract, the unique ingredient helps to hydrate skin and make the colour last longer. Eco Tan founder Sonya Driver says she wanted to create an express, easy to apply, spray-on self-tan that was dark and lasted a long time. “Organic hemp seed extract has phenomenal skin benefits, it helps relieve skin irritations, and has moisturising and hydrating benefits that lock in moisture to your skin which helps prolong your tan.”
