Wet weather prompts closure of Kambah testing clinic

Kambah’s drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic will be closed from Friday 7 August and will reopen on Monday 10 August due to forecast wet weather.

Testing facilities will still be available at Garran Oval, Weston Creek and the EPIC drive-through site, with testing at West Belconnen Child and Family Centre also offering testing services on Friday.

The Kambah site, which is located in the northern carpark of Jenke Circuit, opened its facilities on Thursday last week, 30 July.

In total, the number of negative tests returned in the ACT is now 55,115.

The ACT Government continues to strongly advise residents who have travelled to locations listed by NSW Health on the specified dates to quarantine and get tested for COVID-19.

Residents who have recently visited the NSW Local Government Areas of Fairfield, Campbelltown and Liverpool are also advised not to visit or work at high-risk locations such as aged care facilities or hospitals for 14 days.

ACT Health is urging Canberrans not to travel to areas where there are known cases of COVID-19 and remind residents it is their responsibility to maintain social distancing and good hygiene if they decide to travel.

The ACT Government today announced a further easing in restrictions to come into effect across the Territory on Monday 10 August.

Changes include increased capacity for gyms and health clubs, while food courts, casinos and gaming in pubs and clubs and brothels and strip clubs will be able to open.

The last new confirmed case of COVID-19 was recorded in the ACT three weeks ago.
