Watson property to be auctioned for charity

A unit in Watson will go under the hammer next week, with all proceeds from the sale to be split equally between three charities.

60/23 Aspinall Street in Watson, in the Karelia Park complex, has a price guide of $345,000+ and the sale proceeds will go to RSPCA, Beyond Blue and Cancer Council ACT.

The agents, Andrew Grenfell and Andrew Browne from LJ Hooker Dickson, say the chance to auction off the house for charity is a “proud moment”.

“Working on a sale like this hits very close to home; many of us in the office have felt the effects of these charities’ work. It is a proud moment to see a transaction like this happen, knowing that the funds will be used to provide care and assistance to those who need it.”

The two-bedroom unit boasts two bathrooms and a double balcony, as well as two carpark spaces.

“The unit features a front and rear balcony which is not something you see in the average apartment,” Grenfell says.

“The complex provides extras such as a pool, tennis court, games room, and barbecue areas which residents can enjoy all year round but especially in those beautiful spring and summer months.”

Browne says the home is “ideal” for all types of buyers, with the property not expected to sit on the market for long.

“At this practical price this could be a great investment, it could attract first home buyers, families, downsizers and any others looking for easy living or a healthy investment,” he said.

“The apartment will go for a realistic price, the estate is motivated to get the money to the charities as soon as possible and they will not hesitate to sell the property at a price they feel is reasonable according to the current market and price guide.”

The property will go under the hammer on Wednesday 9 September at the LJ Hooker City office.
