Waramanga man arrested for trafficking cocaine, meth and MDMA

A 31-year-old Waramanga man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, Saturday 11 April, on 11 charges after he was arrested for drug trafficking including cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA.

About 10.20am on Thursday 9 April, police executed a search warrant on the man and his vehicle at a service station in Weston Creek, before executing a second warrant on the man’s residence in Waramanga.

As a result of these warrants, ACT Policing’s Crime Disruption Team located substances believed to be methylamphetamine, cocaine and MDMA, drug paraphernalia, ammunition and cash.

Police located a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine and will allege the man was in possession of cash suspected of being proceeds of crime.

The man’s vehicle was also seized after checks of police indices showed it had been involved in several fail to stop incidents.

The man will face court today charged with trafficking in a controlled drug other than cannabis, possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime possession, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a drug of dependence, possession of stolen property, drug driving, unlicensed driving, and driving a vehicle with a false number plate.

Police also arrested a second man in relation to this matter. He has been charged with driving while disqualified, drug driving, and using an unregistered vehicle. He will be summonsed to face court at a later date.
