Canberra woman Valmai Dempsey, who has dedicated her life to helping others, has been named the 2022 Senior Australian of the Year at a ceremony at the National Arborteum this evening.
While some of the finalists have been unable to attend celebrations, Australian of the Year nominees have been honoured at events across Canberra on Monday.
