Spring Filmmaker Hero Workshop 2020: Sanguineti Media’s Spring Filmmaker Hero Workshop will give Canberra’s young filmmakers aged 9-17 the chance to produce a 2-4-minute short film over five days.
Run from 29 September to 2 October by Dan Sanguineti’s award-winning Canberra-based film and video production company, the workshop gives kids an opportunity to tell their stories.
Canberra Glassworks: Looking forward to something creative and fun for the school holidays? Book into one of the Glassworks’ classes in their School Holiday Program available for a range of ages. Classes include the Spring glass blowing youth camp, make your own kaleidoscope, Kokedama + Glass and more! Classes are available in sessions from Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm.
Basketball ACT: Choose from four spring school holiday camps catering for everyone aged 5-17 wherever they are on their basketball journey at Belconnen and Tuggeranong.
Former AIS coach Phil Brown will be running two camps at Belconnen Basketball Stadium – a specialist shooting camp from 30 September-2 October, and a comprehensive super camp from 6-9 October.
Both of Phil’s camps are designed for junior basketballers aged 9-17 with some experience.
Separately, TJ’s camps will offer boys and girls, aged 5-15 years, the chance to hone their fundamentals, learn game play and have some holiday fun.
It will run at Belconnen from 28-29 September, and at Tuggeranong Southern Cross Stadium 8-9 October.

Little Athletics Holiday Skills Clinics: Are back for another year and they are the perfect introduction to the Little Athletics season, whether you’ve been involved before or not.
Their clinics are run by experienced and qualified coaches who are passionate about helping kids develop into the best possible sportspeople that they can be.
Perform Australia: Host four different programs for young aspiring actors across a range of age groups and interests this spring school holiday period.
Two programs for primary school children aged 7-10 – the first of which is a three-day program called the ‘choose your own adventure character’ acting workshop that will see children develop their own character they will then collectively build a play around.
The second is a two-day program called ‘your favourite movie in six seconds flat’ acting workshop, which will be largely improvisation based.
For teenagers aged 13-17, Perform Australia will host a comprehensive Actors Bootcamp program.

Room on the Broom: The hit children’s stage show, a dramatisation of Julia Donaldson’s hit picture book featuring songs, comedy and scary fun for children aged 3 and up, will play the Canberra Theatre stage from 1 – 3 October.

Day trippin’: You wake up and the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and a sense of wanderlust overcomes you. Pack the car and take a short trip out to one of the many townships dotted around Canberra.

Canberra City Gymnastics Club’s (CCGC) spring school holiday program will run from 28 September to 2 October, and 6 October to 9 October, 8.30am-5.30pm. The fun-filled program is suitable for children in Kindergarten or above and will run at both CCGC’s locations in Belconnen and Lyneham.

National Arboretum: Spring is the perfect time of year to be out and amongst the trees at the National Arboretum Canberra. Head along on a family trip to enjoy nature and one of Australia’s most picturesque playgrounds or keep your children busy and entertained with the many events and workshops on offer.
Canberra Youth Theatre: Will host two workshops over the spring school holidays.
Imaginary Worlds will run 28 September – 1 October and is for primary school age students in years 1–6. The enriching four-day program, participants will explore improvisation, devising and storytelling through fun and engaging activities.
Devising the Unseen will run 6-8 October, is for Secondary participants in years 7–10, and will introduce participants to a range of performance techniques and theatre practices in a collaborative environment.
Be one with the animals: By either heading to the National Zoo and Aquarium for a family day out or book your child in to their Zoocation spring school holiday program.
Zoocation offers a unique experience for primary aged children. During a fun-filled day, children will get up close and personal with many of the zoo’s animals, play games, make toys for the animals, and will learn something along the way.
Mulligans Flat: If you’d rather a different type of animal experience, head out to Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary at Forde where you’ll find a range of school holiday programs on offer.
Bowl Patrol: ZONE Bowling Tuggeranong is running Bowl Patrol for primary-school aged participants starting week 2 of Term 4, from 21 October 4pm.
