Southern NSW records 27 new COVID cases, 15 in Queanbeyan

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded 27 new COVID-19 cases overnight with 15 of those in the Queanbeyan area.

Of the 15 cases in the Queanbeyan-Palerang region, seven are linked with the rest under investigation. The breakdown of cases in the area is Queanbeyan (6), Googong (4), Karabar (3) and Crestwood (2).

There are also ten cases in the Snow Monaro region with five of them linked. The breakdown of cases in the area is Jindabyne (4), Cooma (3) and Thredbo (3).

Goulburn recorded another two new infections with one linked.

It is the second straight day of 27 new cases in the SNSWLHD and brings the total number of cases in the area to 250 since the start of the outbreak.

The areas within the SNSWLHD that have active cases are Queanbeyan-Palerang (90), Goulburn (53), Eurobodalla (33), Yass (13) and the Snowy Monaro region (25).

There are currently eight people in hospital with the virus.
