Southern NSW records five new COVID cases, two in Queanbeyan

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded five new cases of COVID-19 overnight, with two in Queanbeyan.

One of the cases in Queanbeyan has been linked to the current outbreak in the ACT, while the other remains under investigation.

Deputy NSW Premier John Barilaro announced a new exposure site in Queanbeyan last night:

  • Provolution Health, 182 Crawford Street on Wednesday 15 September from 9am to 10.15am

Anyone who visited Provolution Health at that time is a casual contact and must get tested and isolate until a negative test result is confirmed.

Murrumbateman has recorded one new case which is linked to a known case.

There is one fresh case in Yass and is a close contact of an existing case.

The other case is in Batemans Bay and has been linked to known cases.

The number of active cases in the SNSWLHD now sits at 73, up from 69 yesterday.

There are currently two people in hospital with COVID-19 in the region.

There have been 89 total infections since the beginning of the current outbreak in June.
