With its GP-led collaborative outreach service, Health Plus’s ROMS (Residential Outreach Medical Service) program offers high quality, holistic ongoing medical care, and peace of mind to aged care residents and their families.
The multi-disciplinary healthcare provider delivers convenience, comfort, and safety as they work one-on-one with their clients to assess their condition, set goals, and create and manage a plan that works for them.
The weekly visits are fully covered by Medicare and begin with a detailed health assessment, medication review and recommended action plan.
The Health Plus team understands the barriers that aged care residents face in accessing prompt and out-of-hours medical care and has launched ROMS to fill this service gap.
Call Health Plus on 02 6109 9320 for more information or to enrol in the ROMS program.

Summerfield Estate in the NSW country town of Braidwood is the perfect place to retire, with lush, green rolling hills and fresh country air. In fact, some say it’s Australia’s best location to kick back, relax and enjoy retirement.
The over 55s community of 56 designer villas, conveniently located between Canberra and the Coast, features spacious, freehold three-bed, two-bath, two-car homes as well as key facilities that have already been built – think a club house, indoor heated pool, arts and crafts hub and a community garden.
And, if you want peace of mind and the knowledge you’ll have access to healthcare when you need it, Summerfield Estate is adjacent to the new Braidwood Hospital (MPS), which commenced operations in August. The MPS integrates community health services, a 37-bed aged care wing,
emergency and acute services to provide flexible health care to the community.
At half the price of Sydney and two-thirds the price of Canberra, Summerfield presents extraordinary value with luxury, freehold homes with no exit fees for less than $600,000.

You might not expect podiatrists to be cheerful about their work, given all the feet, but Charlie Reynolds and Ben Haggett certainly are.
“It’s enjoyable,” says Ben. “You can have a patient limp in with a lot of pain and after 20 minutes, they walk out with that pain substantially reduced.”
“It can be a simple fix, or it can take six months to learn what’s going on and create an orthotic that’s brilliant so they can walk properly,” Charlie adds.
The duo met while studying in Newcastle, becoming firm friends as well as colleagues.
Over the years they have handled some complicated cases: “A regular patient came in for general nail care,” says Charlie. “I could see one leg was slightly swollen … so I did some vascular testing. We established that she had poor circulation, so I walked down the corridor to the Ochre Medical Centre, got her an immediate appointment and it turned out she had a DVT leg clot that needed acute care from the doctor and then in hospital. That’s the benefit of us being in an integrated health hub.”
