Rex still flying CBR-SYD route despite lockdown

Rex has today, Monday 28 June, moved to reassure passengers the airline was still operating to and from Sydney despite the NSW Government’s enforced two-week lockdown.

In a statement, the airline said although the frequency of services has been reduced to meet lower passenger demand, Rex continues to fly between Sydney – Canberra, Sydney – Melbourne, Sydney – Gold Coast, and between Sydney and all NSW regional cities serviced by Rex to ensure that essential travel can be undertaken for eligible travellers.

Rex said passengers should check the airline’s website, rex.com.au, for up-to-date flight information and the latest travel restrictions.

They should also check relevant State Government websites to ensure they are eligible to travel as different rules apply in different States.

Rex stated is the only airline in Australia which provides comprehensive protection against COVID disruptions through its COVID Refund Guarantee which ensures anyone affected by cancellations, rescheduling or border closures and travel restrictions due to COVID, can easily access a full refund.
