Raiders claim trial win against Canterbury

The Canberra Raiders defeated the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 12-10 in Port Macquarie on Saturday 29 February in their only pre-season trial before the NRL season kicks off.

Ryan Sutton was charged by the NRL Judiciary for a grade one shoulder charge in the match. He will miss the Raiders’ first match of the season with a one week suspension after accepting the early guilty plea.

In other player news, forward John Bateman will miss the opening rounds of the 2020 NRL season following shoulder surgery. He is expected to be available for selection in round 7-8, while Hudson Young still has five matches remaining on his 2019 suspension and is expected to return in round 6.

The Canberra Raiders kick off their 2020 NRL season at GIO Stadium against the Gold Coast Titans on Friday 13 March 6pm.
