Police seek witnesses to Weston skate park assault

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault involving four young men near the Weston skate park around 5pm last Thursday, 7 October.

About 5pm, two young men at the barbecue area adjacent to the skate park were approached by two other young men. An altercation followed, and one of the offenders brandished a knife.

The first offender is described as being of slim build, about 170cm (5’7”) tall and with an olive complexion.

The second offender is described as being about 180cm (5’11”) tall, of Caucasian appearance and with blond hair.

The two young men left the scene in a white car, possibly a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Police believe several people captured the incident on camera and are seeking any footage or photographs taken in the vicinity of the Weston skate park between 5pm and 5.30pm on Thursday 7 October.

Additionally, anyone who witnessed the assault who has not yet spoken to police is urged to come forward.

Last year, an 18-year-old man was murdered during a brawl at the Weston skate park on Dillon Close in the early hours of Sunday 27 September. He received fatal stab wounds and died at the scene, while a 16-year-old male was taken to hospital with stab wounds.
