Police seek information after collisions involving 17 cars on the Tuggeranong Parkway

Police are seeking public assistance in relation to multiple collisions that occurred on the Tuggeranong Parkway near the Cotter Road overpass early on Thursday 19 May.

At about 6.45am on 19 May, a wheel came loose from a car and landed in the northbound lanes. Multiple vehicles swerved to avoid it and subsequently a nine-vehicle collision occurred at the end of the Cotter Road on-ramp heading north.

Further collisions occurred near the fixed speed cameras in the north and southbound lanes. Extensive traffic delays ensued. Thankfully no injuries occurred.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are seeking drivers who witnessed the first collision (who have not already spoken to police) to come forward. Police are also seeking witnesses and/or dash-cam footage from any vehicle driving in the vicinity of the collisions between 6am and 8am Thursday 19 May.
