Police release CCTV footage of suspicious Rivett vehicle fire

CCTV footage of a suspicious Rivett vehicle fire in late December has been released by ACT Policing, who are hoping to identify the two individuals involved.

The footage shows two individuals approach two vehicles parked in the front yard of a home on Angaphora Street, Rivett before dousing them in liquid and setting them alight.

Both people in the footage are seen wearing dark clothing, hats and face masks, with one wearing a distinctive hoodie with the brand “Balenciaga” in white lettering across the back.

At about 12:40am on Wednesday, 22 December 2021, ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Policing attended the Rivett home, extinguishing the fire that had engulfed both vehicles.   

Anyone who can identify either of the people in the CCTV footage, or anyone who witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to police, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6993737.
