Police investigating Fyshwick car yard burglary

ACT Policing is investigating a burglary at a Fyshwick car yard in the early hours of Friday 9 July, during which several vehicles were stolen.

Early on Friday morning at least two people broke into the premises of Collins Cars, 1 Albany Street, Fyshwick before ransacking the premises. The offenders stole the keys to vehicles and used a Porsche Cayenne to ram the showroom doors open, and another vehicle to force the yard gates open.

The Porsche Cayenne was abandoned nearby, and three other vehicles – a white Haval H6, a grey Holden Commodore, and a Mini Cooper – were stolen.

On Saturday 10 July, police executed a search warrant in Chisholm and recovered the Mini Cooper as well as other property stolen during the burglary.

Police are seeking any witnesses to the burglary and information as to the location of the Haval H6 and the Holden Commodore.

Anyone who witnessed people in the vicinity of the car yard between midnight and 4am Friday 9 July, or who captured CCTV or dash-cam footage in the area showing suspicious behaviour or the stolen vehicles is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
