A 40-year-old man connected with a grow house at a $1.1m Higgins residence is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today, Friday 17 July, on a charge of cultivating a trafficable quantity of cannabis.
The man handed himself in at City Police Station earlier today.
On Wednesday, ACT Policing was granted a restraining order over a $1.1m Higgins residence where 31 cannabis plants and a firearm were seized.
Police executed a search warrant at the property last Friday 10 July and officers uncovered a sophisticated hydroponic operation across multiple rooms.
A single barrel shotgun was discovered and seized.
The man is expected to face court today. The charges include – cultivating a trafficable quantity of cannabis, interfere with a public utility service endangering life and possess and use an unregistered firearm.

Police seek witnesses to Higgins arson
Also in Higgins, ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis is calling on public assistance regarding an on-going criminal investigation, suspected to be Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) related.
At 10.17pm on Sunday 12 July, police received a report of a boat on fire in Ashburner Street, Higgins ACT.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV or dash-cam footage from the vicinity between 10-11pm on Sunday.
