Man arrested following stabbing in aggravated burglary

ACT Policing arrested a 44-year-old Giralang man yesterday (Wednesday 14 October) in connection with an aggravated burglary in Flynn last month.

Police will allege the offender entered a residence in Flynn about 12.20am on Friday 25 September, attempting to steal money while the resident was sleeping.

The man awoke and confronted the offender who proceeded to attack the victim, leaving him with stab wounds to his torso before fleeing.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at hospital.

Following an investigation, police arrested the man at a residence in Coombs yesterday.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court on Monday 9 November to face charges of aggravated burglary with intent to cause harm, theft and intentionally wounding.
