Kaleen man to face court for threatening to kill police

A 30-year-old Kaleen man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with a number of offences, including threatening to kill police.  

About 12.05am on Sunday 19 July, ACT Policing responded to reports of a disturbance at Kokomo’s nightclub, a licensed premises in Civic.

Police attended and established a large crime scene at the location.

As police were managing the scene, the 30-year-old man has engaged in a verbal confrontation with police. A short time later, the man allegedly engaged in a physical confrontation with another man.

The 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House. While at the Watch House, the man allegedly made threats regarding a police officer and their family.

He has been charged with affray, intentionally threaten to kill a person, and breach of good behaviour order.

This man is not a suspect in relation to the death of a man in Civic early on 19 July 2020.
