Southern NSW and Queanbeyan record large spike in COVID-19 cases

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded a new high of 107 COVID-19 cases, with 44 in the Queanbeyan Palerang LGA.

It’s a huge jump from yesterday’s 39 cases in the district.

The number of people in hospital has risen to four and 73 people are under active care.

There are 319 active COVID cases in the SNSWLHD with the total number of infections up to 954 since the start of the outbreak in June.

Of the 44 Queanbeyan COVID-19 cases, there are six in Googong, seven in Queanbeyan, eight in Jerrabomberra, six in Bungendore, five in Crestwood and Karabar with one each in Burra, Braidwood, Royalla, Carwoola and Wamboin.

Goulburn Mulwaree recorded 29 new cases, 27 are in Goulburn with one each in Lower Boro and Bungonia.

Yass Valley recorded 18 infections with 15 in Yass and three in Murrumbateman.

There are two new cases in the Eurobodalla LGA, one each in Batemans Bay and Catalina.

Bega Valley recorded four new cases with one in Merimbula, Eden, Berrambool and Tathra.

There are five infections in the Snowy Monaro LGA with three in Cooma and one each in Jindabyne and Bombala.

Upper Lachlan has five new cases with two in Taralga and one each in Golspie, Bannister and Crookwell.
