How to style your home for Easter

No matter what you have planned for the Easter long weekend, there’s no reason you can’t bring some seasonal style into your home.

Catch Easter fever and get into festive decorating: think cute rabbits, beautiful flowers, sweet treats, and classic Easter eggs to bring life and fun to the room.

Looking for some egg-cellent inspo?  International interior stylist Anna Giannis shares some of her favourite tips for styling your home for the Easter break.

Invest in timeless pieces

Anna believes investing in a timeless piece is a must if you like to decorate for festive occasions.

“I personally like to invest in timeless pieces which can be used year after year and also be heirlooms for future generations,” she says.

“The best places to look for decorations are Bed Bath N’ Table for pieces that will last a lifetime.”

If you don’t have a big budget, visit vintage and craft stores for fun, themed editions that can be switched out yearly.

“If you wanted to go down the recycle path, look at your last year’s stash of goodies and re-colour them with cans of spray from Bunnings and go for it!”

Choose a colour theme

Easter is a magical time to spend with friends and family so why not create a photo-worthy moment by sticking to a colour theme?

“Think about your main table and colour theme you wish to run with,” Anna says.

“I personally like to use tonal, pastel colours such as light pinks and greens.”

If you don’t like pastels, you can always consider the colour palette of your home and choose complimentary decorations.

Don’t hop over the details

To have an egg-stra special day make sure to set the scene with bunnies, flowers, candles and of course, eggs!

“Look for a large white bunny and smaller bunnies too as well as baskets and coloured eggs to add that pop on your table. Think of using different heights, sizes and dimensions.” Anna says.

“Don’t forget fresh flowers and a beautiful white linen tablecloth. Hydrangeas, flannel flowers or paper daisies are perfect and so in season.

“Finally candles, tea lights, lanterns and cute fairy lights will instantly up the ambience and create a magical setting.”
