Homebush man in cannabis car caught by cops in Bruce

ACT police have seized 10 cannabis plants and $13,000 in cash after discovering a Homebush man driving a Honda Accord filled with black plastic and plants in Canberra late last month.

On Friday 29 July, Road Policing officers patrolling in Bruce observed a Honda Accord with a substantial amount of black plastic in it.

The vehicle was pulled over and when the driver stepped out of the vehicle, an overwhelming odour of cannabis emanated from the cabin.

After confirming the driver’s identity and that he was not drug affected while driving, officers located 10 cannabis plants in the vehicle and approximately $13,000 in cash on the front seat.

The 44-year-old Homebush (NSW) man was subsequently charged with possession of more than 50 grams of cannabis and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

He will next appear in court in September.

Anyone who has information about the sale and supply of illicit drugs in the ACT is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
