GIVIT donation of the week: Grocery and fuel vouchers

[has iStock image of gift card]

One of GIVIT’s registered charities is working hard across the greater Canberra region to ensure families and individuals affected by cancer have access to the support they need. The organisation raises funds in local areas to help pay for treatment, groceries, accommodation and out of pocket medical expenses. From the start of the pandemic, the main source of their fundraising activities ceased, leaving the charity with limited resources to share across patients and carers. GIVIT ACT is working with the charity to ensure the essentials can be covered, relieving some stress these patients face through an already challenging time. The charity is seeking grocery and fuel vouchers which can be given to families doing it tough through the treatment and recovery period. Donors can give physical vouchers, e-vouchers, or funds, of which 100% goes towards purchasing the voucher requested. To donate, visit: givit.org.au/whats-needed, search by Appeal “Vouchers”, location “ACT” within 100km. After you pledge the item, you will be contacted by the relevant organisation to arrange pick-up, post or drop-off.
