Community first aid training 

Registered training organisation Parasol EMT is offering local community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Canberra CPR/AED training at no cost via their Heartbeat program. The three-hour face-to-face training covers both theory and practical aspects and can be conducted at Parasol’s facility in Kingston or at your organisation. A Conversation for Everyone: Advance Care Planning

The Health Care Consumers’ Association presents a free online session about Advance Care Planning on Tuesday 6 July 6-7.30pm via Zoom. Advance Care Planning gives you a voice and a choice in future decision making if there comes a time when you are unable to make decisions about your care. Free pelvic floor workshops

Women of all ages are invited to attend a free pelvic floor workshop presented by a physiotherapist from Canberra Health Services on Monday 12 July 9.30am-12.30pm at Tuggeranong Community Health Centre, 147 Anketell Street, Greenway. This workshop will provide information, education and self-help strategies for women who are experiencing continence problems or wishing to prevent them. VIEW Club

Belconnen Day: The next meeting is the club’s 50th birthday celebrationon Tuesday 13 July 11.45am at West Belconnen Leagues Club, Holt. Cost: $32 includes lunch. Coffee/Op Shop
The next Coffee/Op Shop at Christ Church, Hawker )corner of Beetaloo Street and Belconnen Way) is on Saturday 3 July 9am-12pm. Browse a huge array of books, some pre-loved clothes and jewellery, 
lots of children’s and infants clothes, rugs, trash & treasure Items, and a well-stocked cake stall with some home-made jams. Free COVID-safe morning teas and coffees are served. All welcome.

Narrabundah Probus Club

Formed in October 2019, the Narrabundah Probus Club meets on the third Tuesday each month at 11am at the Harmonie German Club and continues to have quality guest speakers. Club members enjoy lunch together afterwards and have also met for monthly casual dinners at a local hotel. While members are expected to maintain a paid subscription once they have formally joined, we encourage them to attend up to three meetings to be sure it’s for them. The club is looking ahead to the spring season and planning a number of local garden visits and a coach tour for a day at Mogo.

Canberra Community Chorale

The Canberra Community Chorale under the musical direction of Dan Walker will be celebrating the music of Vivaldi on Sunday 27 June 3pm at Cook Community Hall. The Chorale, together with soloists Veronica Milroy and AJ America and organist Peter Young will perform Vivaldi’s Gloria RV589 and Magnificat RV610. Tickets: $25 via trybooking.com.au (limit 100).

Australia Post community grants

Mental health is set to be the focus of Australia Post’s 2021 Community Grants program. Not-for-profit organisations can apply for up to $10,000 for projects that have a primary purpose of improving mental health and wellbeing, will help people meaningfully connect, and are locally led and delivered. Applications close 4 July 11.59pm. Eligible community organisations can apply at auspost.com.au/grants
