Gillespie Group: a wealth of knowledge

The Gillespie Group’s financial planning team, Michelle Loughhead and Stuart Howard, have a wealth of experience in the finance industry, can assist with a vast range of financial matters, and above all, value their trusted relationships with their loyal and happy clients.

Working under the Gillespie Group’s Wealth Management division, the financial planning team are able to provide advice on a wide range of financial areas, including superannuation and retirement planning, investment planning, personal insurance and more.

Gillespie Wealth Management operates under the Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) owned by sister company, Gillespie Finance Directions, which means there is no outside influence when it comes to product and investment recommendations, and each client can be assured the advice is personal and tailored to their unique situation.

Managing Director John Gillespie says Michelle and Stuart are equipped to provide the full suite of financial planning services and devote quality time to each and every client. He says the key to the team’s success is in being able to cultivate solid relationships built on trust, empathy and clear, professional advice.

“Stuart and Michelle are key figures and important stakeholders in the future of Gillespie Group, and in particular the Wealth Management team,” he says.

In some cases, Gillespie Group are the trusted advisors for three generations within families, providing guidance and advice relevant to the individual’s life stage, whether that be navigating a first home purchase, planning for and entering retirement, or looking into aged care options.

“The vast majority of our clients enjoy long-term relationships with us,” he says. “We’re all about the long haul.”

Founded in 1989, the Gillespie Group is passionate about wealth creation, management and protection for every one of their valued clients.

Gillespie Group’s other diverse divisions complement the work of the financial planning arm, with accounting, mortgage broking and consulting services that ensure clients can access all the financial assistance they require in the one place.

Michelle Loughhead | Financial Adviser

Michelle has been in the financial planning industry since 2002, and an adviser since 2012. She joined the Gillespie Group in November last year, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the financial planning industry. Michelle says the client-adviser relationship is built on trust and transparency, and she thrives on helping people on their financial journey and seeing their financial plan come together.

“For me, it’s all about having that relationship with the clients. Trust is the most important thing for the relationship, and transparency – you’ve got to be really open with people, and realistic about what they can expect from us and what we expect from them.”

Stuart Howard | Financial Adviser

Originally from the UK, Stuart owned and operated his own firm before making the move to Australia in 2011. In his more-than-20-year career, Stuart has worked for large firms, small firms and his own firm, and says he values the Gillespie Group’s unique position of having their own licence, allowing them total control over what products they recommend.

“It’s all about being that trusted adviser; being the first person a client comes to when they’ve got a financial decision to make, about giving clients ideas about how to put themselves in a stronger financial position – either straight away or long-term planning. They like that consistency, and the fact that we don’t spread ourselves too thin here – we’ve always got time for our clients, and they appreciate that.”
