Five ways to celebrate Halloween 2021 in Canberra

Spooky season 2021 is upon as, Canberra is warming up, the year has given us are costume ideas aplenty (masked or unmasked), and a number of Halloween events are popping up around town.

Check out our spooktacular round-up of five things on across the Canberra region this Halloween if you’re keen to dress up, get out and celebrate!

Googong Community Garden Halloween 2021

The gates to the Googong Community Garden will creak open once again for their annual Halloween party! Locals are encouraged to get along as part of their trick or treating travels for some fun, a scavenger hunt and, of course, lollies.

Canberra’s Biggest Halloween Party

If you’re feeling adventurous and in the mood to paint the town red, make sure you get along to Canberra’s Biggest Halloween Party. Taking place on Friday 29 October, there will be over 10 DJs in rotation, party games, Halloween makeup artists, photobooths, and plenty of prizes to be won.

Halloween @ The Hive

The Queanbeyan Hive will be transforming their backyard setting into a spooky Halloween Wonderland for an all ages party with four hours of fun in store on Saturday night.

Three sets of live music from The Decideds, Ben Drysdale, and Escapado will play from 5pm to 9pm with a licensed bar and food options. Get your dancing shoes on and prepare to rattle your bones to some toe tapping tunes. All these performers love to have fun and get guests moving.

The event will also feature market stalls and a prize for best dressed.

As per NSW health regulations, only fully vaccinated individuals will be allowed to attend.

Nightmare of Verity Lane

Reload Bar & Games will take over Verity Lane on Saturday 30 October with a cleverly named event running across three sessions. To comply with ACT health restrictions, the event will be seated with table service featuring Token Arcade & Kitchen’s full Soul Cartel menu, Reload’s drinks selection and special hell-raising Halloween cocktails.

The host and DJ will have you dancing in your seats as you celebrate while prizes will be on offer for best dressed.

Nightmare of Verity Lane will take place Saturday 30 October with sessions at 6-8.15pm, 8.30-10.45pm, and 11pm-1.30am; book your spot from $16.75 via Eventbrite.

SOLD OUT! ‘Drive Thru’ Halloween @ Aeon

For a little bit of family fun this Halloween, people are getting dressed up in their spookiest costume, jump in the car and drive on down to Aeon Academy’s Covid-safe ‘Drive Thru’ Halloween Trick or Treat at Yarralumla Primary School! Children will be given a goodie bag with Halloween craft activities, some spooky yummy treats and ‘mental health packs’ from event sponsors, Mental Health Month.

Goodie bags will cost $15 each, and will be free for those who are currently wageless. Anyone who wants to participate is encouraged to send an email requesting a booking to [email protected]

The Drive Thru Halloween @ Aeon will take place on Sunday 31 October from 6pm to 8pm at Yarralumla Primary School.
