The red Brodburger van at Dickson, the perfect Canberra date idea
Nothing says a date in Canberra more than a trip to one of Brodburger’s four locations. Pictured is the famous red van at Dickson’s Coop at Soho. Photo: Ashley St George.

Looking for some Canberra date ideas to wow your favourite person? In the lead-up to Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d take a look at some uniquely Canberran dates that are sure to be a hit.

Hire a GoBoat

Rent a GoBoat and take in the spectacular scenery that surrounds Lake Burley Griffin. Pack your own picnic or pre-order one to add to your booking.

Take a hike

The early bird gets the worm, allegedly. Hike up Mt Ainslie or Red Hill, whichever you prefer, to take in the sunrise, and then head somewhere for coffee. Cute!

Head to Brodburger

One of Canberra’s favourite burger joints, Brodburger is the perfect place for a casual, relaxed date night. Eat by the lake in Kingston, alongside a pint at Capital Brewing Co. in Fyshwick, or try out their Dickson or Woden locations.

Go glamping

Camp in style amongst the vines at Mount Majura Vineyard with Naked Cubby Co. Guests are encouraged to check in, switch off and enjoy breakfast in bed. With a food and wine package available to add on to your stay, this is the ultimate Canberra date night.

Taste the local wines

Okay, so most of the Canberra District wineries aren’t technically in Canberra, but they’re close enough! If you’re both wine lovers, why not pop in for a tasting at one (or a few) of our Canberra District wineries? There’s so many wineries and drops to choose from and you’re sure to find something for everyone. Make sure you book ahead and arrange a designated driver.
