The Kraken’s heart

Recipe and image created and developed by The Kraken Black Spiced Rum.

  • 45ml The Kraken Black Spiced Rum
  • 30ml freshly pressed lime juice
  • 5ml crème de mure
  • 15ml fig and honey syrup
  • 1 pinch of activated carbon (charcoal tablet)

Make fig and honey syrup by simmering and reducing 1 part honey, 1 part syrup of fig and 2 parts water.

Shake all ingredients and strain into a double rocks glass over ice.

Garnish with half a fig.

Golden hour

  • 45ml Kilderkin Larrikin ‘Sunburnt Country’ Gin
  • 15ml ginger syrup
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • Lemon thyme
  • Ginger ale
  • Dehydrated citrus

Shake gin, ginger syrup and lemon juice with ice and a sprig of lemon thyme.

Strain into a glass over ice and top with ginger ale to give it a golden appearance.

Garnish with a dehydrated citrus slice and a stem of lemon thyme.
