Cow tramples man in NSW Hunter region

A man is in a stable condition after being trampled by a cow in the NSW Hunter region.

Paramedics arrived at a road in Duckenfield on Thursday morning to treat a man in his 30s for suspected chest and pelvic injuries. He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Joel De Zuna said the man was trapped between the cow and a gate but managed to free himself before paramedics arrived.

“While it’s rare that we get called out to an incident involving a large animal like this, we train often for these situations and are well prepared,” he said.

“He was in a fair bit of pain but thankfully he didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries.”
