COVID venues of concern announced in Bega region

Following the announcement of two positive COVID-19 cases in Merimbula this morning, a list of venues of concern has been released for the Bega region.

The Deputy Premier of NSW John Barilaro said earlier today that the confirmed cases meant that the Bega region would not be exiting lockdown on 10 September.

“Since 8pm we have been given notice of two more cases, both in Merimbula,” said Mr Barilaro.

“That’s why in the south of the state, the Bega region, we continue to have these stay at home orders.”

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) have also revealed that fragments of the COVID-19 virus have been found in the Moruya sewage system in the last 48 hours and are encouraging the community to get tested if they have even the mildest of symptoms.

The SNSWLHD say anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed is a casual contact and must get tested and isolate immediately.
