Community Support and Infrastructure grants program now open

The ACT Government invites applications for grants of up to $10,000 through its $200,000 Community Support and Infrastructure Grants program.

Community groups can apply for funding to upgrade infrastructure, buy equipment, run new programs, or train staff and volunteers.

Community organisations are an essential part of flourishing societies, said Rachel Stephen-Smith, Minister for Families and Community Services, so supporting them to do their important work is a priority for the ACT Government.

“An incredible range of non-government organisations in the ACT provide services and opportunities that build a more engaged and inclusive city,” Ms Stephen-Smith said. “From empowering disadvantaged or vulnerable Canberrans to celebrating diversity and supporting creativity and the arts, community organisations enrich our community.

Last year’s Community Support and Infrastructure Grants program funded more than 40 projects, including upskilling disability support workers, establishing a wellbeing garden at a youth homelessness centre, and providing translation services for a perinatal support program.

Ms Stephen-Smith encouraged community organisations across Canberra to consider how their organisation could benefit from these grants, and to apply.

Grants are available for:

•           improving organisations’ business and management skills

•           strategic and business continuity planning

•           furniture

•           minor building upgrade and fixed infrastructure

•           minor capital works like landscaping, repairs to shared bathrooms or kitchens

•           energy efficiency measures

If you need help preparing and submitting a grant application, email [email protected].

Apply for a Community Support and Infrastructure Grants program before 24 January 2022.
