Canberra records six new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded six new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night as the active cases in Canberra falls to 73.

It brings the total number of cases since the start of the outbreak to 2,061.

Vaccination levels in Canberra continue to climb and now sit at 98.2 per cent of people 12 and over, with the national capital continuing to be the most vaccinated jurisdiction in the country.

Hospitalisation rates have remained stable, with five patients being treated while two of those are in intensive care and none requiring ventilation.

There were 1,393 negative tests conducted in Canberra in the 24 hours to 9am on Friday.

Meanwhile, NSW recorded its highest number of cases since lockdown with 516 new infections, while Victoria reported 1,206 new infections.
