Canberra records 7 new coronavirus cases

The ACT has recorded seven new cases of coronavirus in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, down from the nine reported in Canberra yesterday.

The seven cases are the lowest number recorded in the ACT since 20 September.

There are nine patients currently in hospital with the virus. Five are in ICU with five requiring ventilation.

It takes the total number of cases in the ACT for this outbreak to 1,651. The Territory’s active cases have dropped from 231 to 210 since yesterday.

The percentage of people aged 12 and over that are fully vaccinated remains at 92.3 per cent.

1,424 negative tests were returned in the past 24 hours.

The news comes as NSW case numbers also dipped to 177 with four of those cases in Queanbeyan.

Victoria’s numbers have also dropped to 1,036 new cases, the lowest number in the state since 28 September.
