Canberra records 458 COVID cases, no more deaths

Canberra has recorded 458 new COVID cases in the latest reporting period with four people now in the ICU with the virus.

Of the new cases, 260 were from PCR tests with 198 from RATs.

The total number of COVID cases in the ACT since the start of the pandemic is now 41,380 with virus-relates 31 deaths.

Fifty people are in hospital with the virus, four are in intensive care with two requiring ventilation.

There are 2,530 active COVID cases in Canberra.

Three-quarters (75.1 per cent) of ACT children aged between five and 11 have received one dose of a vaccine while 58.9 per cent of Canberrans over 16 have received a third dose. Vaccination numbers are not updated on weekends.

Meanwhile, NSW has reported 6686 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 and 22 virus-related deaths.

Three people who died were aged under 65 and all three had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Of those aged over 65 years who died with COVID, two people had received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, nine people had received two doses, and eight were not vaccinated.
