Canberra lottery ticket a $4.8 million winner

A Canberra player could be heading into the weekend with an extra $4.8 million coming their way after scoring division one in last night’s Set for Life draw, but first, they need to check their ticket.

The mystery winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in last night’s Set for Life draw 2072, drawn Thursday 8 April. They take home the prize of $4.8 million, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.

However, the winning entry is unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner to break the news. Instead, they’re waiting for the ticketholder to come forward to claim their prize.

The winning entry was purchased at Thistle Kiosk at Westfield Woden.

Thistle Kiosk owner Tania Dezman said she was thrilled one of her customers had won.

“It’s fantastic news! We hope it makes a great change to the winner’s life,” she said.

“I hope our winner enjoys their prize and can start making plans!”

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she couldn’t wait to unite the ACT’s latest division one winner with their prize.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a Set for Life ticket from Thistle Kiosk to check their tickets today,” she said.

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glovebox, because the winner could be you and you could be planning what to do with your prize too!

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 2072 on Thursday 8 April 2021 were 1,17, 4, 25, 33, 34 and 36, while the supplementary numbers were 39 and 18.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2072 – the entry from the ACT.
