Cavalry qualified for the best-of-three semi-final against Adelaide after defeating Perth 5-4 in the Wildcard Game at The Fort, Narrabundah on Tuesday night, 28 January.

The semi-final series was the first time the Giants and Cavalry met this season with their regular season match called off due to poor air quality in Canberra.

Game one was played in Canberra with the Cavalry fighting back from 0-5 down to win the game 7-6, sealing the result on a bases-loaded walk in extra innings. The rest of the series was played in Adelaide where the Giants proved too good, winning game two 5-2 on Saturday before sealing the result with a 6-3 win on Sunday.
