After the successful launch of the Senior Outdoor season, Hockey ACT are now half way through the competition and clubs are starting to shine through.
This weekend is gearing up to be an exciting one with players warming into the season.
The Canberra Labor Club Women’s Capital League One Competition will see a 2020 Grand final rematch, with ANUWHC up against Tuggeranong Vikings.
ANU’s performance has been sub-par, but had a convincing win over top-four rivals Goulburn last week at their home ground. Bouncing back to their winning ways ANU have a tough match against a hungry third-placed Tuggeranong team.
Two Friday night feature games for the Capital League One women starting with Tuggeranong Vikings in their first game of a double-header weekend playing top-of-the-ladder St Patrick’s. Following on for Friday night’s second game, Old Canberrans face an emerging University of Canberra side with Canberra Chill stars Meredith Bone and Olivia Martin.
The Duncan’s Plumbing Capital League One Men’s Competition game of the round will feature a skilled Western Districts side filled with Canberra Chill athletes who are hungry for a win after two straight draws.
ANUMHC have a plethora of young talent constantly developing within the group and are seeking a win to hit the team into motion.
Top-of-the-table United have a tough challenge up against third-placed Central. A previous 3-nil win over Central in Round 6 will mean Central will be out for a revenge in their second clash of the season.
