Brodburger Woden is opening tonight (and it’s serving breakfast)

Canberra burger juggernaut Brodburger will open its red van – the original red Brod van – in Woden from 5.30pm tonight, Friday 16 October.

Co-owner Joelle Brodbeck said, as with all Brodburger’s ventures, the menu would feature unique additions exclusive to the location.

“Yes, we’re opening for breakfast here!” she said.

“We thought breakfast burgers were fitting for our newest location because we expect so many tradies and early morning risers to pass through the area.”

The brand-new range of breakfast burgers will  include ‘The Don’, with hash brown, crispy bacon, fried egg, beef patty, mixed lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, swiss cheese, relish, mayo and tomato or barbecue sauce.

Café ‘Little Mez’ will also pop-up next to the van, serving coffee, snacks and desserts.

The van is located in the carpark of Phillip’s Paul’s Centre off Hindmarsh Drive, with the location being teased on social media for the past week.

The Woden locale was chosen after a social media callout in April, and Ms Brodbeck said it was a “clear standout”.

“With Canberra’s growth, Woden is becoming the new centre and we’re so excited to be surrounded by great and flourishing businesses here.”

The Phillip van is the fourth location for Brodburger, alongside their vans at Coop at Soho in Dickson, Capital Brewing in Fyshwick and their Kingston restaurant at the Canberra Glassworks.

Co-owner Sascha Brodbeck said the plan is for the van to remain in Woden for “the next five years at least”.

While Brodburger won’t be doing a free burger giveaway as has become customary, they will be donating $1 for every burger sold this weekend to the Canberra Hospital Foundation.

“With COVID-19 restrictions in place, we’re holding off on our traditional free burger giveaway, but as soon as we can do something fun, we will!” said Ms Brodbeck.

Brodburger Woden will open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 7.30am-3pm and 5.30-9.30pm; Saturday 9am-3.30pm and 5.30-9.30pm; and Sundays 9am-3.30pm.
