ACT residents honoured 2019

The Australia Day 2019 Honours List is the largest since the Order of Australia was established in 1975 with 1,400 awards announced.

Included in the Australia Day Honours List are 1,127 recipients of awards in the General Division of the Order of Australia and 273 meritorious and military awards. The list includes the most ever awards for outstanding service or achievement in the community (516) and the highest percentage and number of women recipients (422).

The awards recognise the contributions and service by outstanding individuals from right across Australia and in many fields. ACT residents on the Australia Day 2019 Honours List include:

Companion (AC) in the General Division of the Order of Australia: Dr Elizabeth Salisbury Dennis; The Honourable Justice Michelle Marjorie Gordon; The Honourable Justice Geoffrey Arthur Nettle; The late Emeritus Professor Patrick Nicol Troy AO; and Ms Helen Rodda Williams AO.

Officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia: Mr Mark Thomas Fraser CVO OAM; Mr Gary John Humphries; Emeritus Professor Brian Leslie Kennett; and Mr Anthony Basil Nutt.

Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia: Dr Wilfred Louis Armarego; Professor Francis Robert Bongiorno; Mrs Narelle Hargreaves OAM; Dr Peter Thomas McCawley; Ms Anne Martin; Dr Andrew Miller; Professor Paul Pavli; Dr Christopher John Pigram, Dr Kathleen Alice Price; Ms Alexandra Mary Sloan; and Professor David Charles Widdowson.
Member (AM) in the Military Division of the Order of Australia:
Royal Australian Navy: Commodore Michael Hans Miko RAN.
Australian Army: Colonel Andrew Nicholas Abbott; Colonel John Arthur Harvey (Retd); Brigadier Anthony John Rawlins DSC; and Brigadier David John Wainwright DSC.
Royal Australian Air Force: Group Captain Stuart James Bellingham DSC CSC; Air Commodore Barbara Ann Courtney; Air Commodore Gregory Alan Hoffmann CSC.
Medal (OAM) in the Military Division of the Order of Australia:
Royal Australian Navy: Captain Mark Gregory McConnell RANR.
Australian Army: Warrant Officer Class One Bradley Michael Doyle; Warrant Officer Class One Trent Rowan Morris; Warrant Officer Class One Stephen Norman Taylor.
