ACT records seven new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded seven new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday, with six people in hospital.

It is now the third straight day of single-digit case numbers after eight cases were reported on both Thursday and Friday.

Of the six people hospitalised with active and cleared cases of COVID-19, five are in the ICU and four require ventilation.

There are now 163 active cases in Canberra, with the number of cases since the start of the outbreak now 1,986.

97.6 per cent of people aged 12 and over in the ACT have received two doses of the vaccine.

There were 1,679 negative tests received in the 24 hours to 9am on Saturday.
