ACT records one death, 959 new COVID cases

The ACT has reported 959 new COVID cases and one virus-related death in the latest update.

The death is of a man in his 90s and takes the ACT’s COVID death toll to 45 since the start of the pandemic from 86,102 infections.

There are currently 5,974 active cases in Canberra.

The number of people in hospital with the virus has risen by seven to 62, with three people in the ICU and two requiring ventilation.

ACT COVID-19 vaccination numbers

  • Aged 5-11 (1 dose): 80.5 per cent
  • Aged 5-11 (2 doses): 58.7 per cent
  • Aged 5+ (2 doses): 96.4 per cent
  • Aged 16+ (3 doses): 73.9 per cent
