ACT records 838 new cases of COVID-19

The ACT has recorded another increase in COVID-19 infections, with 838 new cases recorded in the latest update.

It is an increase of 180 on yesterday’s total of 658.

Of the new cases, 457 were from PCR tests and 381 from RATs.

The ACT has now recorded 56,474 total COVID cases since the start of the pandemic and 34 virus-related deaths.

The number of people in hospital with the virus has dropped by six to 37 with two people in intensive care and one requiring ventilation.

69.7 per cent of ACT residents aged 16 and over having had their third dose of a COVID vaccine, while 79 per cent of children aged between 5 and 11 have received one dose.
