ACT records 553 new COVID cases

The ACT has recorded 553 new COVID cases in the latest update as the number of people in hospital rose slightly.

Of the new cases, 285 were from PCR tests and 268 from RATs.

The ACT has now recorded 54,683 total COVID-19 infections since March 2020 and 34 virus-related deaths.

There are currently 3,998 active cases in Canberra.

There are 39 people in hospital with the virus, two are in intensive care with one requiring ventilation.

69.2 per cent of ACT residents aged 16 and over have received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and 78.8 per cent of children aged between 5 and 11 have received one dose.
