ACT records 464 new COVID cases, one death

The ACT has recorded 464 new COVID cases as a man in his 80s died with the virus.

There have now been 34 virus-related deaths in the ACT from 49,541 cases since the start of the pandemic.

There are currently 44 people in hospital with the virus, none are in ICU or requiring ventilation.

67.4 per cent of ACT residents aged 16 and over have received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 78.3 per cent of children aged between 5 and 11 have received one dose.

There are currently 3,980 known active cases in Canberra.

It is now three straight days in which Canberra has recorded under 500 cases after a spike of 946 on Wednesday last week.

The rise was largely due to an outbreak at the ANU which has now stabilised.

Meanwhile, a man in his 70s from Queanbeyan was one of six deaths reported in NSW.
