ACT records 1123 new COVID cases

The ACT has recorded 1123 new COVID cases as the number of people in hospital with the virus dropped by two.

Of the new cases, 620 were from PCR tests and 503 from RATs.

It is the third straight day the ACT has reported over 1000 COVID cases and takes the number of active infections in Canberra to 5289. It is the first time active cases have been over 5000 since 24 January.

The ACT has now recorded a total of 64,219 cases since the start of the pandemic and 38 virus-related deaths.

There are now 37 people in hospital with the virus, with four in intensive care and one requiring ventilation.

COVID-19 vaccination numbers

  • Aged 5-11 (1 dose): 79.5 per cent
  • Aged 5-11 (2 doses): 27 per cent
  • Aged 5+ (2 doses): 95.5 per cent
  • Aged 16+ (3 doses): 71.2 per cent
