ACT records 11 new coronavirus cases, more schools exposed

The ACT has recorded 11 new coronavirus cases to 8pm last night as the Territory moves into its first weekend of eased restrictions.

There are now 162 active cases in Canberra, while hospitals remain free of any patients with COVID-19.

The total number of cases since the start of the current ACT outbreak is now 1,804.

Meanwhile, the amount of schools exposed to coronavirus is now at 20 with Bonython Primary School and Duffy Primary School added to ACT Health’s exposure sites list.

The news comes as the ACT enters its first weekend of relaxed restrictions, with masks now only mandatory in high-risk setting such as aged-care facilities and hospitals.

Nightclubs are now allowed to re-open again with dancing back on the agenda for many this weekend.
