COVID cases in the Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) continue to rise with 35 new infections, 11 of which are in the Queanbeyan Palerang LGA.

The news comes after 30 COVID cases in Southern NSW yesterday, but despite the recent rise in infections, just two people remain in hospital with the virus.

The 11 Queanbeyan cases are spread out with four in Googong, three in Queanbeyan, two in Jerrabomberra and one each in Burra and Karabar.

Goulburn Mulwaree recorded six new cases with all of them in Goulburn.

Yass Valley also recorded six infections, with three each in Yass and Murrumbateman.

Upper Lachlan has five new cases with three in Grabben Gullen, there is one each in Crookwell and Taralga.

Four cases were reported in the Bega Valley LGA, two are in Frog Hollow, one is in Bega and one is in Berrambool.

Two cases are in the Snowy Monaro LGA, with one each in Perisher and Berridale.

There is one new case in the Eurobodalla LGA in Long Beach.

This brings the total number of cases in the SNSWLHD to 766 since the start of the outbreak in June.

The areas within the SNSWLHD that have cases under ‘virtual care’ are Queanbeyan Palerang (40), Goulburn Mulwaree (26), Snowy Monaro (23), Yass Valley (16), Bega Valley (14), Eurobodalla (13) and Upper Lachlan (12).

There are two people in hospital with the virus.

The news comes as NSW recorded 6,324 COVID-19 total cases and three deaths.
