24-year-old woman charged with destroying evidence of assault

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with offences including perverting the course of justice after she was arrested by ACT Policing detectives yesterday afternoon, 1 April.  

In March this year, detectives from ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations received a report regarding the alleged serious assault of a 22-year-old man at an address in Dunlop.  

Detectives investigated the allegations, and subsequently executed a search warrant at a residence in Dunlop.  Evidence gathered during the search warrant indicated that after the assault, a 24-year-old woman assisted two of the alleged offenders attempt to conceal their involvement in the assault from police. 

Yesterday, the 24-year-old woman was arrested at her residence and charged with perverting the course of justice, destroying evidence, aiding in an assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and being knowingly concerned in a robbery.     

The woman appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon.
